The Cape Cod Farm is a networking group for web designers, developers, bloggers, writers, photographers … anyone making a go and at solo living on The Cape and Islands. We meet weekly in different venues around Cape Cod.
We are currently seeking members! Joining The Farm is easy. All you’ve got to do is attend one of our meetups. That’s it! There are no fees, no sign-ups, no annoyances. We’ve got three types of meetings
The Cape Cod Farm challenges the notion of “competition” by encouraging all members to acheive the success they want through the efforts of a cooperative community. We’re all in the same boat — trying to make a solo living on Cape Cod. Not an easy task! However, if we row together, the journey will be much more pleasant.
If you want additional information, please drop us at line at info [at] thecapecodfarm [dot] com. We can’t wait to hear from you.
When are the meetings?
Once a month. Please check the home page for the venue.
What’s it all about?
The Farm is a weekly meeting for Cape Cod’s freelancers and independent workers. We chat about the issues of self-employment and enjoy some human contact after working alone all week.
It’s also an opportunity to gain encouragement and help developing one’s own companies, get work referrals, create partnerships, meet interesting people and find out about the latest technology online. Plus there’s beer.
We’re friendly and casual group, so don’t feel intimidated. It’s not a boozefest (although beer is drunk), nor are we a group of hard-core beardies. Instead, we’re a bunch of friendly people in the same boat — trying to make a solo living on Cape Cod. The Farm lets us support each other in that effort.
History
The Farm started in May of 2008, when Dave Caolo (a technology consultant in Brewster) built this site in a frenzy of late-night inspiration, as many freelancers do.
You join by attending our meetings. Regular attendees are also invited to join our private mailing list and write a member’s profile page on the website. Membership is (and always will be) free.
